Spanish journalist Guillem Balague recently spoke in answer to viewers’ questions on his YouTube channel, and among other things, he discussed the rumour that had recently arisen about Zinedine Zidane and Real Madrid targeting Sadio Mane of Liverpool.
Mane has been on terrific form lately, form that has seen him equal his teammate Mohamed Salah on 17 Premier League goals this season, one short of league leader Sergio Aguero of Manchester City. Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal are also on 17.
The recent reappointment of Zidane as the Real manager has already sparked a large number of speculative reports about his potential targets for the summer transfer window. Mane, however, isn’t a target apparently.
Balague says that Real want a striker, a centre-back and a few midfielders, and at the moment, the Senegalese winger isn’t of any interest to them.
Mane only signed a new five-year Liverpool deal in November, reportedly without a buyout clause as this the case with all Liverpool players.
