In an all League Two showdown on Sunday lunchtime, a struggling Cheltenham will welcome Mansfield to the Jonny-Rocks Stadium with an FA Cup fourth-round spot up for grabs.

Starting with the hosts, while Cheltenham might have found themselves enjoying a remarkable unbeaten run when heading into December, the Robins have come crashing back down to earth over the past month. While the Gloucestershire outfit might find themselves still within striking distance of finding a route back into the automatic spots in England’s third-tier, Head Coach Michael Duff finds his side in the midst of an extended blip. Last seen on December 29th when playing out a sluggish 0-0 stalemate away at Colchester, Cheltenham have failed to win any of their last six matchups on the spin. With that run highlighted by a pair of 3-0 drummings against League Two debutants Barrow and Portsmouth, Sunday’s hosts have also struggled with their form on home soil. Despite opening this weekend’s FA Cup ties as a standout pick with the bookies, it should be noted they have landed just a single point at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium in their last three contests.

As for the visitors, while Cheltenham might find themselves enduring an extended blip, Mansfield should be confident of causing what would be a mild upset on the road this weekend. Managing to skyrocket their way up the League Two table and no longer looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, the Stags once again impressed with another eye-catching display earlier in the week. Welcoming play-off hopefuls Salford to the One Call Stadium on Tuesday night, Head Coach Nigel Clough saw his side land a 2-1 win on home soil, a result that moved them within striking distance of breaking into the top-half of the table. Enjoying by far their most fruitful spell of the season so far, the former Burton boss now finds his side enjoying a very impressive three-match winning run. Fancying a real chance on Sunday lunchtime, don’t be surprised to see Mansfield upset the odds on their travels this weekend.
