Argentina football coach Diego Maradona was impressed by Benfica’s winger Angel Di Maria after watching the midfielder score as a second-half substitute in a League Cup match against Olhanense on Wednesday night. The Argentinian starlet dribbled in the area and chipped over the goalkeeper for the last goal in a 4-1 win.
“He didn’t play for long but he showed a desire to be in the Argentina team, which makes me happy,” Maradona was reported. “I always liked to dribble before shooting and Di Maria did it very well.”
Maradona also met with FC Porto players Lisandro Lopez and Lucho Gonzalez after the match, has been touring Europe to watch Argentine players since he took over as national coach in November.
