Despite speculations over his upcoming resignation, Argentina national coach Diego Maradona doesn’t panic.

`I remain calm and won’t let anything get me down. All we need to do is work hard and don’t give up,` El Pelusa told the press.

The painful loss against arch-rival Brazil (1-3) on Saturday gave criticasters an extra opportunity to blame Maradona for Argentina’s weak qualifying series.

Former Boca Juniors striker Jose Sanfillipo is among the people that are calling for a resignation of Argentina’s head coach.

`Maradona knows nothing, he is useless. He should pack his bags urgently. Argentina are a disaster,` he said.

Saturday’s beating against Brazil was the third loss in the qualifying group for Maradona since he joined the Albiceleste in November.

With just three qualifying matches to go, Argentina is still on the `safe` fourth place with a small margin on Colombia and Ecuador.

The first four of the group automatically qualify for the World Cup in South Africa, next year. The country that ends up fifth in the group is forced to play against an opponent from the CONCACAF zone in a play-off for a World Cup ticket.

In the last three matches Argentina faces Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.
