Barcelona have announced on their official website that defender Marc Bartra has signed a new contract until June 2017.
The Catalans had revealed the youngster would be extending his deal back in January, but the agreement was not made official until earlier today.
Bartra’s previous deal was due to expire at the end of the current campaign and no doubt everybody at the club will be delighted that the 23-year-old has decided to remain at Camp Nou.
The talented stopper has seen his stock rise a great deal over the last couple of years and he has already amassed 14 La Liga appearances this season.
Bartra appears to be on the verge of establishing himself as a first team regular at Camp Nou, which would see him become yet another product of club’s youth academy to do so.
The Catalans will have a perfect opportunity to revive their La Liga title bid when they face Real Madrid at the weekend, with Barcelona 15/8 to emerge victorious.
