Marc Muniesa set for La Liga return

Estadio Deportivo is reporting that Stoke City defender Marc Muniesa hopes to return to Spain in the summer.

The 25-year-old is determined to leave the Potters in search of regular playing time, having last played for the senior team back in December.

Muniesa had an opportunity to join Real Betis in the winter, but manager Mark Hughes didn’t want to let him go, claiming the player would be given a chance to shine.

But, considering the boss has failed to keep his promise, the talented centre-back is almost certain to request a transfer at the end of the season.

Muniesa has been on the radar of both Real Betis and Espanyol, and he is keen on leaving England and moving to either Seville or Barcelona.

The former Barcelona starlet was one of Mark Hughes’s first signings at Britannia, going on to make 52 Premier League appearances.
