According to a recent report from Tuttosport, Real Madrid defender Marcelo is still determined to exit the club during the upcoming summer transfer window – regardless of Zinedine Zidane’s return. The belief is that Marcelo wants to re-connect with Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently helped to lift Juve into the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League. Marcelo has always been a valued member of the first team squad at the Bernabeu, but now, he seems to be ready to move on. Ironically enough his decision coincides with Madrid’s drop in form this season, which is the reason for Zidane’s return.
If the deal does go through then it’d likely be viewed as one of the most substantial defensive moves of the modern era, with Marcelo long since being regarded as one of the best in the world.
The Brazilian joined Real Madrid back in 2007, and has been playing for the Brazilian national team since 2006.
