Real Madrid left-back Marcelo continues to be linked with Serie A champions Juventus as his status at Santiago Bernabeu continues to diminish under Santiago Solari.

The latest reports are insisting Los Blancos have launched an active pursuit of a long-term replacement for the Brazilian defender and Nicolas Tagliafico of Ajax is said to be leading the list of potential targets.

Tagliafico rose to prominence thanks to some rather compelling performances in the Champions League this season and Real Madrid are one of the clubs keeping close tabs on the 26-year-old Argentinean.

Nicolas Tagliafico’s representative Ricardo Schlieper has yet to receive a call from Los Blancos but has still went on to cause quite a stir by claiming that Real Madrid are targeting his protégée because ‘Marcelo will join Juventus’.

Despite being vocal in his public denials, Marcelo is said to be extremely keen to reunite with his best friend Cristiano Ronaldo.
