Marcelo has revealed that he has no intention of leaving Real Madrid any time soon.
The Brazilian, who turns 32 this month, arrived to the Spanish capital from Fluminense in 2007. Since then, he has made a total of 505 appearances in the famous white shirt, scoring 37 goals and laying on 96 assists from his role as an attack-minded left-back. He has so far helped Los Blancos to four La Liga titles, two Spanish Cups, and no less than four Champions League trophies.
Real signed 24-year-old Ferland Mendy from Olympique Lyon for €48 million last summer to provide competition for the experienced Brazilian, and they also have 23-year-old Sergio Reguilon due back from his loan at Sevilla at the end of the season. Marcelo has recently been linked with a move to Juventus, but it seems leaving the Santiago Bernabeu isn’t on his mind just yet.
Posting on Instagram, he said he wasn’t sure if there was any truth to the reported interest from the Serie A champions, but he is happy in Madrid and doesn’t want to leave. He also doesn’t believe the club would let him, even if he did.
