Putting in another worrying display earlier in the week, there is no doubt that Manfield will be desperate to draw a line under what has been a downbeat seven-day spell. However, despite suffering back-to-back League Two defeats, the Stags still have one eye on making a late charge for the play-off places. Returning to Field Mill on Saturday afternoon, Nigel Clough’s men have still gained a fearsome reputation for their continued success on home soil. Last seen in Nottinghamshire claiming a 2-1 win against top-seven contenders Exeter, the former Burton boss has remarkably seen his side win each of their last 10 straight League Two matchups in front of their own supporters. Likewise, it should also be noted that Mansfield have lost just a single contest at Field Mill since way back on October 5th. Knowing that victory here could move them within a single point of the play-off places, a struggling Stevenage should be in for a tough task. Last seen getting hit with a 2-1 defeat against Northampton on home soil in midweek, Saturday’s guests are firmly at the heart of a relegation scrap. It should be noted, the Boro have failed to win any of their previous nine straight contests across all formats. With Mansfield picking up a 2-1 victory when the two sides faced off back in November, we’re backing a similar home win at attractive odds here.

Starting with Saturday’s guests, managing to extend on their Champions League adventure thanks to a 1-0 win away at Manchester United earlier in the week, Atletico Madrid have managed to find a real March purple patch. Eventually coming past the Premier League heavyweights at Old Trafford, the defending Spanish champions have started to skyrocket their way up the La Liga table. While Diego Simeone’s men might have all but relinquished their domestic crown this year, Los Colchoneros are unbeaten in each of their last six outings across all formats. With their recent resurge highlighted by four La Liga victories on the spin, Madrid should be smelling a golden chance away from the Wanda Metropolitano here. Knowing that maximum points on Saturday night could see them leapfrog Barcelona, Tuesday’s 1-0 win away at Manchester United also means that Atletico have won each of their previous three contests outside the capital. On the flip side, while Rayo Vallecano might have been last seen snatching a 1-1 draw against Sevilla on home soil, that doesn’t cover what has been an extended blip. Almost finding themselves sat in La Liga limbo, Saturday’s hosts have managed to collect just a pair of their points from their previous eight top-flight matchups. With Atletico winning each of their last five meetings against the Spanish strugglers we’re backing a similar away victory here.
