March 23rd: Saturday’s English Accumulator – 6/1

With all of Europe’s elite heading into March’s international break, it will be England’s lower tiers that steal all of Saturday’s headlines.

As the respective promotion battles in League One and League Two really start to heat up, there is also a full National League fixture list.

So, for those of you who are looking to stick on a Saturday acca, we have found a trio of betting tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday, March 23rd

BST 12:30 Mansfield vs Colchester

Making an immediate return to winning ways last weekend, Mansfield have continued on a famous League Two romp this season. While the Stags might have eventually fallen short in their bid to punch a play-off ticket last year, Nigel Clough’s men have come roaring back this time around. Last seen putting in a thumping performance away at Bradford as they cruised their way to a 5-1 victory against Bradford, the former Burton boss finds the mood in his camp at a red-hot high. Opening this weekend’s fixtures holding a four-point buffer at the top of the League Two table, Mansfield will certainly be smelling the chance to make another fourth-tier statement here. It should also be highlighted, Clough’s side have continued to gain a reputation for their remarkable success on home soil. Including an action-packed 3-2 win against Swindon earlier in the month, Saturday’s hosts have won four of their previous four showdowns at Field Mill. Although Colchester might have eventually clung to their League Two status last season, the Essex-based outfit are enduring another real crisis. Opening Saturday’s matchup with just their goal difference keeping them outside the drop zone, new boss Danny Cowley has a real job on his hands. Along with failing to win any of their last seven straight outings, the U’s have also recorded just a single victory from any of their previous 13 appearances – a run that stems all the way back to December 22nd.

Tip: Mansfield to score in both halves @ 21/20

15:00 Northampton vs Derby

While Derby might have signed off February with a minor blip, Saturday’s hosts have continued to shine this season. With their sights firmly set on securing a lucrative Championship return in 2024, the Rams have also skyrocketed their way into the automatic promotion spots. Last seen putting in what could be a season-defining performance as they secured a 1-0 victory against Bolton, Paul Warne’s men have won all of their previous four League One appearances by an aggregate score of 9-1. With their recent purple patch underlined by a 3-0 romp away at Bristol Rovers on March 9th, Derby are tipped as a leading promotion contender this season. It should also be highlighted, Derby have collected 20 points from their previous eight League One contests. Suffering just a pair of defeats from any of their last 11 appearances – a run that stems back to January 23rd – Warne’s side will be looking to cash in on a Northampton squad who are at the heart of a public struggle. Last seen putting in another toothless display as they fell to a 2-0 defat away at Wycombe, Saturday’s hosts have come tumbling down the League One table. Including a 5-1 drumming at the hands of Peterborough earlier in the month, Northampton have shown some continued issues on home soil. In fact, the Cobblers have won just one of their previous six showdowns in front of their own supporters.

Tip: Derby win @ 7/10

15:00 Rochdale vs Maidenhead

Although Rochdale might be seeking a National League miracle in their bid to punch a play-off ticket this year, Saturday’s hosts have claimed a welcomed boost over the past few weeks. Last seen putting in what could have been a season-best performance as they stormed their way to a 4-1 romp away at Eastleigh, Jimmy McNulty will be demanding a repeat display here. Breaking into the top-half of the table, the Manchester-based outfit have secured consecutive National League victories for the first time since the start of November. With their recent purple patch underlined by a 2-1 win against Woking earlier in the month, Rochdale have collected seven points from their previous three appearances. Smelling a real opportunity here, McNulty’s men should be excited by their success on home soil. Including a 3-0 victory against Wealdstone last month, Saturday’s hosts have lost just a pair of their previous eight showdowns at the Spotland Stadium. Making an immediate return to losing ways last week as they slumped to a 4-1 drumming at the hands of Dagenham & Redbridge, the Magpies are at the heart of a relegation scrap this season. Opening this weekend’s fixtures holding just a two-point buffer from slipping into the relegation zone, Alan Devonshire’s men have lost six of their previous eight National League appearances. It should also be highlighted, Maidenhead have lost four of their last five showdowns away from York Road.

Tip: Rochdale win @ 11/10
