March 7th: Thursday’s Europa League Double – 4/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With the Europa League knockout stage getting underway on Thursday, three English clubs will all be looking to pick up their own respective first-leg advantages.

As the likes of Liverpool, Brighton and West Ham all steal centre stage, we have found a pair of Europa League betting markets that are worth keeping an eye out for on Thursday.

17:45 Roma vs Brighton

While Roma might have parted ways with Jose Mourinho back in January, the Wolves have certainly found a recent boost. Continuing to shine under the guidance of new boss Daniele De Rossi, the Italian heavyweights certainly find the mood in their camp at a season-high.

Picking up some perfect momentum over the weekend as they stormed their way to a thrilling 4-1 romp away at Monza, Thursday’s hosts have won all of their previous four appearances across all competitions.

Looking to claim a first-leg advantage when they return to the Stadio Olimpico this week, Roma have also suffered just a single loss from any of their previous nine appearances across all competitions.

With their recent turn in fortunes underlined by a 3-0 victory against Frosinone last month, De Rossi will be calling on the red-hot Paulo Dybala to spearhead Roma’s charge here.

Once again finding the net away at Monza last weekend, the former Juventus ace has notched seven goals in as many appearances over the past month.

While Brighton might have continued to receive a string of praise since appointing Roberto De Zerbi back in September 2022, the Seagulls are in the midst of a public wobble.

Failing to pick up any kind of momentum over the weekend as they slumped to a shock 3-0 drumming at the hands of Fulham, Thursday’s guests have collected just a single victory from any of their previous five outings.

Including an infamous 4-0 defeat against relegation scrappers Luton on January 30th, Brighton have lost four of their last five showdowns away from the Amex.

It should also be highlighted, De Zerbi’s men have recorded just a single clean sheet on their travels since back on January 2nd.

20:00 Freiburg vs West Ham

While West Ham might have opened the New Year at the heart of a real struggle, the Hammers have turned a crucial corner over the past fortnight. Making real history last season as they were crowned Europa Conference League champions, David Moyes’ men will be hoping to make a first-leg statement here.

Mounting a thrilling comeback away at Everton over the weekend as they eventually secured a 3-1 victory at Goodison Park, the one-time Manchester United boss has seen his squad secure back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time since opening 2024.

However, although West Ham might once again be dreaming of the chance to secure a top-six finish among England’s elite, Thursday’s guests have shown some extended defensive issues.

Coming under a huge amount of scrutiny last month as they were hit with an infamous 6-0 drumming against London rivals Arsenal, Moyes’ side have failed to record a single clean sheet from any of their previous nine appearances across all competitions.

On the flip side, while Freiburg might have followed West Ham out of Group A back in December, the German outfit will be worried by their most recent meetings against Thursday’s guests.

Losing their two Group A clashes against the Hammers by an aggregate score of 4-1, Christian Streich’s men are in the midst of their own extended wobble.

While Freiburg might have eventually snatched a thrilling 2-2 stalemate against Bayern Munich last weekend, the Reds have failed to win any of their previous eight outings within 90 minutes.

it should also be highlighted, Streich’s leaky defence have shipped at least a pair of goals in eight of their last nine appearances.
