Former AC Milan goalkeeper Marco Amelia has admitted that he could continue his career at La Liga side Sevilla.
Los Rojiblancos found themselves in all sorts of problems as goalkeepers Beto and Mariano Barbosa both suffered injuries.
And with the transfer window now closed, Sevilla officials are forced to explore the free agents market and hopefully sign another shot-stopper.
Former Italy international Marco Amelia appears to be their number one target and the 32-year-old admits he would be interested in a move to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
“An agent contacted me with regards to Sevilla’s situation, and asked if I was interested in going there,” Amelia confessed to Estadio Deportivo.
“I like this option because Sevilla is a great club that have won titles in Europe and all the Italians who have been there speak very well (of the club).”
Marco Amelia became a free agent when his contract at San Siro expired in June, and he is still searching for a new club.
The experienced goalkeeper represented AS Roma, Livorno, Lecce, Parma, Palermo, Genoa and AC Milan during his career, spending last four years at San Siro. He has also earned 9 Italy caps and was part of the squad at the 2006 World Cup and Euro 2008.
