Catalan daily newspaper El Mundo Deportivo has learned that Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Paris Saint-Germain hotshot Marco Verratti.
The Catalans no longer appear keen on signing Paul Pogba from Juventus, as they now have plenty of quality options in the centre of the park, following the arrival of Arda Turan and emergence of Sergi Roberto.
According to the latest reports, coach Luis Enrique is now eager to recruit a holding midfielder, someone who could share playing time with Sergio Busquets.
As that is usually the case, Barcelona have a host of talented footballers on their radar that include Julian Weigl, Youri Tielemans, Riechedly Bazoer and Davy Klaassen, but it would appear as though Marco Verratti is the number one name on their hit-list.
It is important to note that it was current Barcelona sporting director Ariedo Braida who helped Leonardo lure the Italian midfielder to Parc des Princes, and the Catalans hope he can now bring the Italy star to Camp Nou.
