Portuguese daily newspaper Record understands that Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo will be changing clubs this summer.
Having impressed at Estadio Jose Alvalade, the Argentine full-back has caught the eye of Europe’s top clubs and he is likely to become one of the hottest commodities in the summer transfer window.
The likes of Liverpool, Monaco, AS Roma, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all believed to be keen, with Sporting looking to sell to the highest bidder.
The problem is that the Lions only own 25% of the player’s rights, with the remainder owned by Doyen Group investment company.
And even if it is almost certain that the Argentina international will be leaving the club in the near future, chances are his employers will wait until after the World Cup before cashing in on him.
Marcos Rojo, 24, has long ago nailed down a regular starting berth in the national team and he should play an important part at the tournament finals.
