The Italian international forward Mario Balotelli rejected a chance to move to China this summer.
The 27-year-old’s contract with Nice has expired and he is a free agent even though Ligue 1 outfit are still owed €10 million by Balotelli’s next club.
Former Manchester City and Liverpool striker reportedly received a mega-money offer worth €30 million from an unnamed Chinese side but Balotelli is keen to remain in Europe and continue to rebuild his reputation.
Sky Sport Italia claims Balotelli is putting football before money as he eyes a move elswhere in Europe.
Balotelli is coming off from a successful spell with Nice which helped him restore his place in the national team and the Italian striker wants to remain close under Roberto Mancini’s nose.
Olympique Marseille are the firm favourites to sign the striker although Napoli remain in the race for his signature.
