Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez could be moving to the United States at the end of the season, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 29-year-old has had another disappointing season at Artemio Franchi and the latest reports suggest that Fiorentina are ready to offload him this summer.
Mario Gomez is reportedly considering a move to Major League Soccer, with New York Red Bulls and New York City FC already in talks with his representatives.
The experienced forward enjoyed the best period of his career in German Bundesliga, where he scored impressive 138 goals in 236 league outings.
However, the run of serious injuries and poor form hindered his career at Fiorentina, with Gomez making just 29 league appearances in two years and scoring 7 goals.
Having lost his place in the starting line-up, Gomez will be allowed to move on in the summer, and a switch to the MLS seems like a realistic possibility.
