Serie A leaders Napoli have completed the signing of Portuguese defender Mario Rui on permanent deal, it has been revealed.
The Azzurri disclosed the news in their semiannual financial report, paying €3.75 million for his services.
Rui had joined Napoli from AS Roma on loan with obligatory purchase option that has already been activated.
The 26-year-old arrived as back-up for Faouzi Ghoulam, and was given a chance to shine after the Algerian picked up a serious injury.
Rui went on to make 14 Serie A appearances, scoring 2 goals and setting up another one, while also featuring in four European matches.
