Colombian defender Maruo Yepes has signed a contract with San Lorenzo, the Argentina club revealed via their official Twitter account.
The 38-year-old was out of contract after leaving Atalanta in the summer, and he was linked with several high-profile clubs including Arsenal after captaining los Cafeteros at the 2014 World Cup.
The effervescent centre-back ultimately decided to accept an offer from San Lorenzo and return to Argentina some 12 years since leaving River Plate for Nantes.
Yepes spent three years representing les Sang at Or before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2004, where he largely impressed in five seasons at Parc des Princes.
In 2008, the Colombian moved to Italy and has been there ever since, playing for Chievo, AC Milan and Atalanta.
Yepes has been a member of the national team since 1999 and has so far earned 102 Colombia caps and scored 6 goals. He started four of five matches for los Cafeteros at the 2014 World Cup.
