Australian and Newcastle United striker Mark Viduka could be back in action in around six months time after it was announced here today that the thirty three year old player is not likely to need further surgery on his troublesome Achilles tendon.
Viduka last played in the 2007 AFC Asian Cup.
The striker who has scored eleven times for his country in forty three appearances is keen to make it back into the Australian squad in their bid to make into the World Cup Finals in South Africa in 2010.
Mark Viduka and Newcastle United physio James Murphy are expected back in England on Friday after having spent two weeks in Brisbane.
