Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic continues to attract a lot of attention from clubs across Europe, and according to Liverpool Echo, there should be a potentially huge race for his signature this summer.
The 25-year-old Serbia international caught the eye the most by putting in an excellent performance as Porto, where he spent 2020-21 on loan, knocked Juventus out of the Champions League in the round of 16. Before that, he had proven himself in the Bundesliga where he spent two years with Hertha Berlin. Now, clubs in Germany and Italy are lining up for a chance to secure his services this summer and remain in regular contact with Liverpool, while Porto obviously have hopes of completing a permanent transfer as well.
As for Liverpool, Grujic never really convinced manager Jurgen Klopp, even though he was the first player the German brought in after taking over as the Reds’ boss in October 2015. With Georginio Wijnaldum practically gone already, they will need to add proven quality to their midfield ranks this summer, and the demand for Grujic’s services represents a good opportunity to raise at least a part of the funds required.
