Marotta: Juve will buy a striker in January

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta has admitted the Old Lady will enter the market in the search for Fabio Quagliarella’s replacement.

The former Udinese forward has been ruled out of the season with a knee injury and Juve are now forced to buy a new striker.

“For now we are thinking about qualifying for the next round of the Coppa Italia,” Marotta said.

“It’s our intention to find a substitute for Quagliarella. We’ll look to take the opportunities that present themselves in the transfer market.”

During the last few days Juventus were heavily linked with a move for Diego Forlan as Marotta reportedly believes the Uruguayan would be the perfect answer to club’s attacking worries.

Other players being mentioned are Udinese’s Antonio Floro Flores and Catania’s Maxi Lopez.
