Moroccan forward Marouane Chamakh could soon be moving to Italian Serie A, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The 32-year-old has been searching for a new club since he was released by Crystal Palace and he is currently undergoing a trail with West Bromwich Albion.
However, Serie A basement club Palermo have joined the chase for his services as they are desperate to reinforce their front line.
The Rosanero had previously shown interest in Gonzalo Bergessio and Mario Balotelli, but the two strikers eventually joined San Lorenzo and Nice respectively.
Marouane Chamakh is not exactly a proven goalscorer, having managed mere 14 goals in 113 Premier League appearances, but Palermo officials clearly believe the Morrocan would improve their struggling attack.
The Rosanero sit deep in the relegation zone after taking just one point from three league fixtures and they are priced at 4/6 to get relegated at the end of the season.
