English giants Manchester United are showing interest in Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos, the player’s official representative has confirmed.
It is no secret the Red Devils are desperate to sign a high-quality central defender and they have been linked with a January move for the Brazilian stopper.
And while PSG didn’t want to listen to offers for the youngster last summer, things could change at the end of the season.
“Last summer, the president of PSG declared a transfer for Marquinhos non-negotiable,” agent Giuliano Bertolucci told Le Parisien.
“We’ll see what his position is next summer. Many clubs are interested. Manchester United is one of them, it’s true.”
With Thiago Silva and David Luiz the preferred centre-back pairing at Parc des Princes, Marquinhos is likely to be interested in a move away from the club, but it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can agree a transfer fee with the Saints.
The 20-year-old, who joined the club in a mega-money move from Italian giants AS Roma, has made a total of 33 Ligue 1 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain, scoring 3 goals in the process.
