(GSM) – Sunderland are eyeing Olympique Marseille defender Taye Taiwo.
The Daily Mail reports the Black Cats have renewed their interest in the Nigeria international. The left-back was reportedly being monitored by the Premier League outfit two years ago, when Roy Keane was in charge of the Wearside club.
However, nothing came of the interest at the time, as the free-kick specialist choose to stay true to Marseille.
Taiwo still has a year left on his deal with the French champions and is also being tracked by Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old is currently in South Africa representing Nigeria in the 2010 World Cup, and was a part of the team that lost 1-0 to Argentina on Saturday.
