Ligue 1 giants Marseille are stepping up their efforts to sign French striker Kevin Gameiro from Sevilla, according to France Football.
OM are preparing for life without Andre-Pierre Gignac, whose contract is due to expire at the end of the season, and they are actively searching for a new centre forward.
France Football has learned that Marseille have made Sevilla’s Kevin Gameiro their number one target, with the former PSG forward looking to leave los Rojiblancos in search of first team football.
The 27-year-old recently admitted he was open to returning to France and it is believed he is flattered by the interest from Stade Velodrome.
Kevin Gameiro had earlier been close to joining Marseille, but OM eventually decided to sign Andre-Pierre Gignac instead.
The highly rated forward has been playing second fiddle to Carlos Bacca at Sevilla this season, but still managed 8 goals in just 10 competitive starts.
