Marseille are on the verge of agreeing a deal for Guingamp striker Claudio Beauvue, according to L’Equipe.
With Andre-Pierre Gignac leaving at the end of the month, OM need to sign a replacement for the experienced striker and they appear to have made the 27-year-old forward their primary target.
Even though Beauvue recently hinted he would prefer a switch to England, the latest reports suggest Marseille are set to agree a €5 million transfer fee with Guingamp.
OM have yet to contact the player’s representatives, as they plan to offer the striker a three-year contract.
Beauvue will arrive at Stade Velodrome to challenge Michy Batshuayi for a starting berth and he will be feeling confident of his chances after enjoying the most successful season in his career.
The Guadeloupe international was one of the revelations of the previous Ligue 1 campaign, having netted 17 times in 36 league outings for Guingamp.
