Ligue 1 giants Marseille are in talks to sign Argentine midfielder Lucas Ocampos from Monaco, reports L’Equipe.
OM plan a major squad overhaul this summer and it appears the 19-year-old footballer could be one of their first signings of the transfer window.
L’Equipe has suggested that the two sides have already started negotiations that should see the Argentine move to Stade Velodrome.
Monaco beat off quite a few clubs to the player’s signature two years ago, and the attacking midfielder in turn showed a great deal of potential, scoring 9 goals in 63 league outings.
He was, however, unable to nail down a regular starting berth and there is every chance he will be interested in becoming the part of Marseille’s new project.
Meanwhile, OM are also showing interest in PSV Eindhoven centre-back Karim Rekik, who has another two years left on his contract at Phillips Stadium.
