Marseille hoping N’Koulou will stay

Marseille are desperate to keep hold of star player Nicolas N’Koulou beyond the current season, reports Le 10 Sport.

Club chiefs have already revealed they are planning a major squad overhaul in the summer, with key players Mathieu Valbuena, Andre-Pierre Gignac, Steve Mandanda and Andre Ayew all expected to leave.

And while OM are prepared to entertain offers for said players, they will go the extra mile to ensure Nicolas N’Koulou remains at Stade Velodrome.

Marseille officials want him to become the leader of the new generation given that he is only 23 and already has a wealth of top flight experience.

Warding off interest from top European clubs will be no easy task though with N’Koulou reportedly on the radar of Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Monaco among other clubs.

However, the mere fact Marseille rejected an offer from Napoli worth in excess of €12 million in December is enough to suggest they mean business.
