French giants Marseille are in advanced talks for Aston Villa full-back Jordan Amavi, according to L’Equipe.
L’OM have seriously improved the quality of the squad over the last year or so and they hope to further close the gap behind PSG and Monaco this season.
Despite signing Patrice Evra from Juventus in January, Marseille plan to sign a long-term solution for the left-back position, with Aston Villa’s Jordan Amavi top of their hit-list.
L’OM have already offered to take Amavi on loan with an option to buy for €10 million, whereas sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta is at the same time trying to persuade the player to join.
The 23-year-old already seems tempted by the Marseille project, and chances are the deal will be wrapped up in the coming days.
Amavi has fared pretty well since joining Aston Villa from Nice, making 10 Premier League appearances and featuring in 34 Championship matches.
