Marseille in talks for Ligue 1 starlet

Marseille are stepping up their efforts to recruit French midfielder N’Golo Kante from Caen, according to Radio Monte Carlo.

Even if team’s Champions League qualification and future of coach Marcelo Bielsa remain in doubt, the club officials are already working on summer reinforcements.

After the Argentine coach was impressed with Caen midfielder N’Golo Kante, chairman Vincent Labrune opened talks with the Ligue 1 side.

If Marcelo Bielsa stays at Stade Velodrome, he will first make sure to sign a quality holding midfielder and it looks as though the SMC starlet is the first name on his hit-list.

Despite playing third division football just two years ago, Kante first helped Caen gain promotion to the elite division before enjoying a very successful first season in the top flight.

His suitors Marseille still hope to achieve a top 3 finish in Ligue 1 and they are available at 13/10 to defeat Lille on the road.
