L’Equipe understands that Marseille are keeping close tabs on Lyon wantaway striker Bafetimbi Gomis.
The French giants could stay without Andre-Pierre Gignac in the summer transfer window, and should the highly rated striker leave they would consider making a move for the Lyon star.
Gignac is reportedly followed by Newcastle, but he is not too keen on leaving Stade Velodrome this summer.
As far as Gomis is concerned, he is almost certain to leave les Gones in the near future after being informed he is no longer in the first plans of boss Remi Garde.
The 27-year-old has already rejected offers from Fenerbahce and Swansea, so it remains to be seen whether he would be interested in a move to Stade Velodrome.
Gomis has been scoring goals on regular basis ever since he joined Lyon from arch rivals Saint Etienne, managing 50 goals in 145 Ligue 1 appearances for the club.
