French giants Marseille are keeping close tabs on Fiorentina midfielder Mario Suarez, Le 10 Sport can reveal.
With Abou Diaby suffering a new injury setback that pushed his debut further back, OM appear ready to recruit a new central midfielder.
According to Le 10 Sport, Fiorentina’s Mario Suarez has emerged as one of their top targets as it is becoming clear that the Spaniard will be leaving Artemio Franchi in January.
Following some very good showings for Atletico Madrid, the 28-year-old surprisingly failed to make an impact in Italian Serie A, spending less than 400 minutes on the pitch during club’s successful league campaign.
And while Fiorentina are reportedly ready to send Suarez to Benfica in exchange for Lisandro Lopez, Marseille also appear prepared to offer the experienced midfielder a way out of Artemio Franchi in the winter transfer window.
Mario Suarez made a total of 7 league appearances for Viola this term, scoring one goal in the process.
