French giants Marseille are exploring the possibility of signing Hellas Verona midfielder Romulo, according to Le 10 Sport.
OM chiefs are still in the process of finding a new coach after Marcelo Bielsa resigned, but they have no time to waste and need to further reinforce the squad.
As a result, Marseille look ready to rekindle their interest in Hellas Verona star Romulo, who has returned to the club following a season-long loan spell with Juventus.
Several injuries prevented the Italy international from proving his worth in Turin and nobody was surprised to see the Bianconeri opt against purchasing his contract.
Marseille now aim to take advantage of the situation and lure Romulo to Stade Velodrome, but he is unlikely to be available on the cheap due to the fact that he has another two years left on his contract.
The 28-year-old has so far made 66 appearances in Italian Serie A, scoring 8 goals in total.
