Marseille linked to Guillaume Hoarau

French newspaper La Provence is reporting that Marseille are closing in on former Paris Saint-Germain striker Guillaume Hoarau.

The talented forward left the Saints for Dalian Aerbin on a free transfer in January 2013, but he seems to have regretted a move to China.

And with the player set to cancel his contract with the Chinese side, he is hoping to return to French Ligue 1.

La Provence understands that Saint Etienne are one of the clubs showing interest in the 29-year-old, but it appears Marseille are leading the chase for his signature.

Namely, the French giants are looking for a low-cost option to reinforce their attack, with Hoarau even prepared to lower his wage demands in an attempt to facilitate a move to French Ligue 1.

Marseille have recovered well from the serious dip in form and are now 4/5 to defeat Montpellier and record a third straight victory in Ligue 1.
