Marseille linked to Mesbah, Kakuta

Olympique de Marseille are pondering moves for Djamel Mesbah and Gael Kakuta, according to French newspaper Sport.

With Cesar Azpilicueta’s proposed transfer to Chelsea set to improve the club’s finances, OM look set to enter the transfer market in the coming days.

According to Sport, OM are searching for an alternative to left-back Jeremy Morel and have shown interest in Milan defender Djamel Mesbah.

Despite only joining the Rossoneri last January, the Algerian has been given permission to leave in the summer transfer window and he has been paired with Palermo of late.

On the other hand, La Provence reports that Marseille are readying loan bid for Chelsea midfielder Gael Kakuta.

The Frenchman has returned to Stamford Bridge following a successful loan spell at Dijon, but he has no place in Roberto Di Matteo’s plans and is likely to be farmed out on loan once again.

The player recently expressed his interest in joining Marseille, so the agreement appears to be on the horizon.
