AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes has been offered to Marseille ahead of the January window, France Football has learned.
The experienced centre-back has only made two Serie A appearances this season, and it looks as though his spell a San Siro is drawing to a close.
According to the latest reports, Mexes is thinking about returning to French Ligue 1 and Marseille have been offered a chance to secure his services.
OM could stay without both Nicolas N’Koulou and Rolando in the near future, and they could be interested in luring the 33-year-old to Stade Velodrome.
After starting his professional career at Auxerre, Mexes moved to Italian Serie A in 2004 and he has remained there ever since, representing AS Roma and AC Milan.
But, with the end of his career not too far away, the former France international appears ready to return to Ligue 1 before hanging up his boots.
