(GSM) – Spanish starlet Cesar Azpilicueta could be Olympique Marseille’s transfer coup as they look set to sign the defender.

The Osasuna full-back, who has been tracked by Europe’s elite, has been linked with moves to league giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

And in England, Premier League rivals Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea are all understood to have kept close checks on him.

However, the French champions have moved to agree a deal with Osasuna worth €7million and the player looks set to sign a four-year deal at the Stade Velodrome.

“It was a Didier Deschamps wish,” Marseille general manager Antoine Veyrat confirmed to L’Equipe.

“But of course he has been overseen several times by our scouts.”
