Marseille makes fresh bid for Capel

Marseille have increased their offer for Sporting Lisbon winger Diego Capel, A Bola has learned.

The French giants have been hot on the trail of the Spaniard for quite a while now and they have been trying to lure him to Stade Velodrome since the start of the transfer window.

Marseille had no less than two official proposals rejected by the Lions, but they have decided to return with a fresh bid for the highly rated footballer.

According to A Bola, OM have submitted a €5 million proposal, which is still some way short off Sporting’s €7 million asking price.

Nevertheless, with the Lions in a precarious financial situation, they might be prepared to lower their demands and reach an agreement with the Ligue 1 side.

Diego Capel, 25, has spent last two years at Estadio Jose Alvalade, scoring 9 goals in 52 Primeira Liga matches for the Lions.
