Free-spending Marseille are weighing up summer move for Sporting CP goalkeeper Rui Patricio, A Bola can reveal.
L’OM have already begun creating a star-studded squad, luring the likes of Dimitri Payet, Patrice Evra and Morgan Sanson to Stade Velodrome, but they also plan to recruit a world-class striker and a high-profile goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.
According to A Bola, Marseille have set their sights on Sporting CP hotshot Rui Patricio, and they are ready to start the bidding at €20 million.
However, the Lions are referring interested sides to the player’s €45 million release clause, and it remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached.
Rui Patricio has been on the radar of top European clubs for quite some time, but he has so far resisted temptation to leave Sporting CP for greener pastures.
The 29-year-old has been Portugal’s number one shot-stopper for several years now and he spent every minute on the pitch as the Selecao claimed the Euro 2016 trophy.
