Marseille Rekindle Interest in Debuchy

Olympique de Marseille is looking to strengthen their defence and have Arsenal right back Mathieu Debuchy in mind to do so, according to L’Equipe.

OM have expressed interest in the 32-year-old defender before, and now they are looking to bring him back to his native France to fill the vacancy at the right side before the window closes.

Debuchy still has two years on his contract at the Emirates, but has been a non-factor due to his lack of playing time in North London.

In his three years spent at Arsenal he has appeared only 23 times for the club, and midway through the 2015-16 campaign he was sent out on loan to Bordeaux.

Arsène Wenger will more than likely not have Debuchy feature much for Arsenal this season, so a move to get more playing time in Ligue 1 would be key for the Frenchman — especially if he hopes to land a spot in France’s squad for the upcoming World Cup.
