According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a deal has been struck between Marseille and Roma for the transfer of Kevin Strootman. The 28-year-old’s future has been up in the air for quite some time now, but it finally seems as if we’re closing in on the end of this saga. The report suggests that the fee is believed to be €25 million, with an extra €3 million in add-ons. The deal is said to be made official at some point in the next 48 hours as we move closer towards the summer transfer window deadline for clubs across Europe.
Strootman, who has been an international player for The Netherlands since 2011, first joined Roma back in 2013 when he made the jump from PSV Eindhoven. Across the last five years, he’s become one of the most efficient midfielders in world football, with his style of play often being described as quite dynamic with Strootman possessing great vision and composure on the ball.
