Marseille rule out Thauvin exit

French giants Marseille have stated in no uncertain terms that star winger Florian Thauvin is not available for sale.

The former Newcastle United flop has been absolutely outstanding since returning to Stade Velodrome, and he is now back on the radar of top European clubs.

It is believed that Bayern Munich are readying a summer bid as they prepare for life after Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, but Marseille chairman Jacques-Henri Eyraud is adamant Thauvin will not be sold.

“He is not for sale! Not for €100 million and not for €150 million,” Eyraud told Telefoot.

With 14 goals and 11 assists in 25 Ligue 1 outings this term, Thauvin has clearly been the league’s star performer this season, but he has a deal until June 2021 at Marseille.

Having largely struggled at Newcastle United, the attacking midfielder doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to leave l’OM, which can only be a good thing.
