Marseille sign Amine Harit permanently from Schalke

Olympique Marseille have triggered the automatism to turn the loan signing of Amine Harit from Schalke 04 into a permanent transfer. The loan agreement included an option to do so by handing the attacking midfielder 15 appearances in all competitions during his second season on loan at Marseille, and on Sunday, Harit played the full 90 minutes of his 15th appearance of the season – a 1-0 triumph over Olympique Lyon at the Velodrome.

The 25-year-old is a product of the academy at Nantes. In 2017, he left the club where he made his professional debut and joined Schalke. Having spent four years in Gelsenkirchen, he returned to France in 2021 and he’s been practically playing for Marseille ever since, on loan from the Bundesliga side. Now he’s no longer a loanee, but a full-time Marseille player.

In the 15 matches he’s played for Igor Tudor’s side, Harit has scored one goal and produced three assists.
