French giants Marseille have announced the signing of talented goalkeeper Romain Cagnon from Rennes.
The 20-year-old had come through les Bretons’ famous youth academy, amassing 8 appearances for the reserves, while making the matchday squad for the senior side on just one occasion.
Cagnon was eventually allowed to leave when his contract expired in June and he has now signed a deal until the end of the season with Marseille.
Considering that l’OM boss Rudi Garcia already has Steve Mandanda, Yohann Pele and Florian Escales at his disposal, the new arrival will have to prove his worth in the reserves.
Romain Cagnon represented France at various youth levels, but he has yet to get a chance to shine on senior level.
