French giants Marseille have intensified their efforts to sign Caen midfielder N’Golo Kante from Caen, according to L’Equipe.
OM scouts have watched the holding midfielder throughout the season and the latest report suggest the Ligue 1 high-flyers are eager to lure the 23-year-old to Stade Velodrome in the summer.
Club chairman Vincent Labrune has already contacted Kante’s agents as Marseille are determined to beat Napoli and other interested sides to the midfielder’s signature.
The highly rated footballer has been in fine form since joining Caen from Boulogne some two years back, scoring 4 goals in 65 league appearances.
Likened to Claude Makelele for his style of play, Kante has even been tipped to earn his first France cap in the near future, and chances are a big club move is on the horizon as well.
The defensive midfielder has a contract until June 2018 at Stade Michel d’Ornano, meaning he will not come on the cheap.
