Olympique de Marseille had a tough season and they need to make some positive changes this summer. After reaching Europa League final the year before, they failed to get out of the group stages of that competition and also failed to finally return to Champions League football through Ligue 1 qualification.
The club from Velodrome want to make that happen in the spring of 2020 and that is why they are chasing several players, including Guingamp’s Marcus Thuram. According to La Provence, Guingamp’s relegation to Ligue 2 has opened the door for the son of former France centre-back Lilian Thuram.
Thuram junior scored 12 goals last season, having a decent season, but being unable to help his team stay in Ligue 1. With Bundesliga clubs also interested in the player, Guingamp could set a high price for the wider forward. Thuram will turn 22 this August and is still far from finished product.
