Denmark international defender Simon Kjaer has long been linked with a move to the Premier League with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea expressing interest to sign the 28-year-old in the past.
But according to the reports coming from Turkey via the Daily Express, Liverpool are prepared to bid for the Fenerbahce man in effort to make the necessary defensive reinforcements for the next season.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have struggled in defensive department throughout the season, with the back line failing to follow the high-paced attacking style Jurgen Klopp is trying to implement at Anfield and the German tactician is widely expected to add some well-established quality players to defense during the summer transfer window.
Klopp is believed to be targeting the former Roma defender but is facing some competition from Olympique Marseille who, according to reports from Le 10 Sport, are ready to challenge the Premier League club for Kjaer’s signature.
