Ligue 1 high-flyers Marseille are seriously considering the sale of summer recruit Kostas Mitroglou, L’Equipe can reveal.
L’OM splashed out €15 million for the player’s services last summer, with Benfica also entitled to 50% of the future sale, but they did not get what they paid for.
Namely, Mitroglou only managed 2 goals in eight starts and another three substitute appearances, falling behind Valere Germain and Clinton N’Jie in the pecking order.
As a result, head coach Rudi Garcia seems prepared to listen to offers for the Greek striker in the January window.
It remains to be seen whether former club Benfica might make a move, with both Raul Jimenez and Haris Seferovic struggling for form and only Jonas proving his worth.
