(GSM) – Olympique Marseille have revealed they made a last-gasp bid to bring Chelsea star Didier Drogba back to the club in the summer’s transfer window.
Club president Jean-Claude Dassier also admitted manager Didier Deschamps and sporting director Jose Anigo had issues with each other following disagreements over transfer targets.
But pair have now patched up their relationship while the club had turned their attentions to former hero Drogba and Sevilla star Luis Fabiano but could land either of the pair.
Drogba had left Marseille for Stamford Bridge in 2004 in a £24million deal, but Dassier has refused to give up his pursuit for the Ivory Coast ace.
“We even tried to bring in Drogba, but this has not been possible,” Dassier told L’Equipe. “We’ll see, you should never give up in life.”
